Quit 51 Stop Smoking Service Cheshire West and Chester

Our Goals:

The overarching goal for Quit 51 is work with individuals and organisations to reduce and prevent the smoking of individuals in England:

  • Reduce smoking prevalence among adults and young people in Cheshire West and Chester
  • Reduce smoking uptake in young people in Cheshire West and Chester
  • Reduce smoking at the time of delivery rates in Cheshire West and Chester by supporting pregnant women to stop smoking.

The Service

  • We co-ordinate local activity that supports national campaigns such as No Smoking Day and Stoptober
  • We co-ordinate local responses to Government consultations on tobacco control issues and support the implementation of new legislation
  • We support Cheshire West and Chester Trading Standards in their responsibility for tackling the supply of illicit tobacco
  • We develop awareness campaigns to inform the public of the health and broader implications of smoking
  • We offer support and guidance to support tobacco control measures and smoking awareness
  • We provide support and advice to support the implementation of smoke-free environments
  • We offer nationally accredited training to help health and other professionals engage with smokers most efficiently to encourage and refer to smoking cessation services
